For the first time I can remember, in our recent provincial election, actually keeping campaign promises became a real issue - the conservatives (our republicans) hammered the liberal (our dems) incumbent over his failure to keep campaign promises in the last election 5 years ago (think Bush I "read my lips"). You know what happened? The same guy promised he'd keep his promises this time around, and got re-elected. :rolleyes:
