I'm here. We are on the Isle of Caprese. Almost missed missed my flight from LAX do to an accident and then road construction on Sepulveda. The flight was uneventful and I actually had the seat to my left free and the company of a nice young woman from Romania.

The weather was nice yesterday in Sorrento - where we stayed the night, but by the time we arrived on Caprese, it was very cloudy and light rain. The afternoon was spent in the town of Anacapri, a bit of a scary drive up a narrow basically one way road that had no real wall to protect if the vehicle decided to leave the road.

Saw this on my walk this morning.

Our hotel in Sorrento was located in a park. Very nice!

We visited a noteworthy church in Anacapri that was built by a nun and there is more of the story, but I think the beer is affecting me.

Pack up right now! Go to Modena and see the factory and Fiorno. Then go to Maranello, also might want to stop in Bologna while your at it. Got to see those fugly lambos.... And to top off the trip stop in Torino and say hello to the crazy italians at pinifarina!

Good to see you have started out in serenity, taking in the European culture treasures and nature scenery. That´s all fine and dandy. Let´s see what other Euro features your camera will fixate on after a night out. I will also be interested in your general summary of differences between this part of Europe and your part of America.

My eyes have been fixating on a lot of Euro features or curves if you will. There was virtually no one out last night here in Capri. I will see what I can do. This town is pretty much closing down for the year. Today it is sunny out. Maybe some of the locals will be out tanning

I'm not sure how to include a link of just the new pictures (seems that it is including everything. Anyone know the answer? Also, it seems that the images are shown in reverse - the first picture I took is the last (page 13) when uploaded. How to reverse the order.

OK, I'm trying to get the real sights on photo, but I am finding that most of the women here are actually a bit under age, but give them a few years...

Lucky find!

She is of course beautiful. You couldn't catch up to her because she's used to Italian men chasing her.

You usually see girls in groups locked arm in arm, it is rare to catch one out alone.

So, longing back to your European roots, eh ? But seriously, home sweet home, right ?

What about Europe would actually make you move ? You have at least as good climate, scenery, jobs, women... only thing you don´t have to this extent is old culture. Wouldn´t move for that, would you ?

So true. I do love European girls, but home is in the heart and California is not bad.
I moved to Europe for work once. Although it was a great time, there is no place like home (where ever it is). I did marry one of their women (my wife is from Zurich)...

I would not mind moving to Spain some day, or even retiring to the the Como/Lugano area, but trust me you would get really tired of the food and the lack of variety.

I actually just got back from a month in Switzerland/France, and boy was I ready to get back! I have been there over 20 times in the last 20 years, and can tell what the pros/cons are.

Love the Europeans that move to the US. They are usually interesting people who appreciate the lifestyle here and have a great sense of being "free."

Livi, I have worked with tons of Ericsson engineers and the Swedish wifes were always wonderful. Great stuff!

I didn't have Internet access yesterday, so I have a lot of pics to upload. The remainder from Capri and from today in Pompeii and Herculaneum. This is the last night in Italy, as we get on a plane tomorrow morning to go visit with family in Germany. Last night we were in Sorrento for one more night and had a little time to shop. I picked up a nice leather jacket, that should work well in the warm SoCal winters. My old bomber jacket is a little too warm these days.
