Question What time of year is the best time to buy Craftsman Tools/Cabinets

Hi Everyone,

I need to get a new 2 or 3 piece tool chest (red, ball bearing, etc) but I want to wait till the best sale of the year.

Does anyone know which one of the annual sales, is the best for buying Craftsman Tools & Cabinets???
(I have heard that I should wait till Thanksgiving, but not sure)...

Thanks!

Get yourself signed up for the Craftsman Club. You can do it online.

As I've watched this kind of stuff for a few years, I think August is the best time. Stuff tends to go on sale in June/July to Craftsman Club members, and then at better prices to the general public in August. If you are in the Craftsman Club, you can at least determine which items are being marked down that year.

I've always picked up some early bird deals on the day after Thanksgiving.

+1 for Craftsman Club. Great way to pick up that air compressor with the included set of air tools, too!

Sams had stainless steel, ball bearing cabinets that were pretty damn nice.

Join the Sears club and watch for deals after Thanksgiving. I got a $300 saw for $240, same with a compressor.

That Sams club box looks nice, Costco has something similar if that's closer.

Club is good, but nothing beats returns. there are 2 Sears by me and I make a point to visit once a month to see what's in the returns area. If you are lucky, you can get virtually perfect stuff for 50% off.

Best deal I got on a craftsman tools/toolboxes was from a Snap-On truck. Mac & Snap-on take the craftsman stuff in on trade.

The best time to buy crapsman tools is when you can't afford the real ones. Heres a little tip, go to lowes and buy the "kobalt" brand. They are made by the same people who make the wrenches for Snap-On. Quality hand tools at Craftsman prices.

Not true any more..."Kobalt" was great at first, but Lowes changed their tool maker...

If you like the Craftsman boxes, check out Waterloo (Magnum & Traxx series). They are the OEM for Craftsman tool boxes/roll-cabs, and you can get the exact same style/config. as the Craftsman units for significantly less.

I can't afford the real ones and my friends come over and break my screwdrivers!

I always like the Craftsman warranty. No receipt. Great for aging tools from garage sales..
