Anyone going to Fabtech in Chicago tomorrow/next week?
 

My last post on this was fruitless, but I had the date wrong. It starts tomorrow and goes through Wednesday.

Anyone going?

I keep hearing advertisements for it on the radio. Where is it at? McCormick Place?

Yep, it started today but I'll likely go Tues or Wed if I go. Are you near enough for beers and what not if I go?

It's a three-hour drive from Chicago to here one-way.

That's a small price to pay to get together with a guy you met on the internet.

I'd do it on a weekend, but not a week-night. The six hours of driving alone take me from when I get off of work to bedtime--with no time to spare. I'd like to comfortably hang out for a few hours.

What part of Michigan are you in Len? I might have to go to Howell in February...

I'm in the Grand Rapids area, Howell is an hour and a half or so from here.

It's no big deal, I may not even make it and even if I do I may need to rush back. Chicago is only 2:15 from here so I probably would not spend the night.

Now that Meigs Field is gone, no way. You know I hate driving as opposed to flying Lendaddy. :D

I would actually probably enjoy it, but our new owner is not the type to send us to trade shows very often especially since it is not directly related to custom machines/automation.

Are taking the ferry across or driving... I know YOU are not flying. :D:p

It's a short drive really, I do it in under 2:30 just about every time. The one time I took the 930 I made it in under 2 hours :)

You're going to give me a complex on the flying, as it stands now I'll do it if it makes sense but I need at least 3-4 shots of Irish goodness. Now flying for "entertainment"??? Now that's just stupid:D

I like to think of it as "selfish", not stupid ;):D:D


Have fun at the show and buy a nice 2"-3" mandrel tube bender so all us DIY exhaust guys can get you to bend us up some nice curved stainless steel tube sections :D
