Pheasant Hunters
What is your take on the bird population this year? I just got back and the Nebraska population seems to be low this year. We only got 2 roosters which is still not bad, just not as good as last year. Then again, deer season opened on Saturday so we called it quits somewhat early.

Friends of mine just got back from S. Dakota. They got their limit every day. Here in PA. they are rare. Of course the PA game commission says it's OK to shoot hens. Then they wonder why we don't have any. Turkeys??? Now we got turkeys.

lucky. only pheasants around here are on a game farm. you have to kick the fatbastaards up in the air. i want to chase wild birds.

Just got back from Montana 3 weeks ago--went for Mulie and Antelope, during mid-day we went pheasant hunting--plenty of birds--we got 6 roosters between 3 of us in about 3 hours total of hunting(spread out over 2 days). Also kicked up some sage grouse and sharptail.
If anything population was the same as last year if not better.
