Gt4 players

Can anyone give me some pointers on setting up the '96 RUF CTR2.
i cant seem to make this car corner at all and the massive power on the straights can only help so much.
thanks in advance

Is that the "yellow bird"? I won it at some point and suped it up all the way. I couldn't get it to corner or brake worth a damn. It was useless. I never pursued a good setup, if there is one.

There's a web site that gives good setups for most cars. I can't remember the link, but if you google gt4 and "setups", you may find something useful.

The game is hopelessly biased towards Japanese junk.

A Nissan Skyline beating the RUF time after time? I think not.

No its the one you have to buy...i won the yellow bird later on. and this one is suped way up and your right it just wont corner...a PoP is right b/c a subie with half the power will beat it all the time grrr.

and my skills arent the best but still it shouldnt be that bad

If you can't beat em join em...sold a few of the cars i had won and bought an Amuse carbonR and dropped a stage 4 turbo in it and got 803 hp at 1123kg.

Not completely. Some Benzes are very good, and other German makes, like Audi and Opel. But the RUFs are all terrible. I always thought the Japanese makers just had something against Porsche. Maybe because Porsche doesn't allow actual Porsches on the game. The RUF cars seem to be a loophole to get back at Porsche.

Maybe because Porsche has not given license rights to GT to use them, notice GT had to use the RUF marque in order for some Porsche content to make it to the game.

I think that's correct. Ferrari is also conspicuously absent. Ditto Lamborghini, Maserati and a few others you'd expect.

Forza Motorsport is vastly better (and it has quite a bit in the way of Porsche offerings). I can't really justify going out and blowing $600-$800 on a gaming console though. :(

GT4 is still good fun. Several of the Benz racecars are exceptional. The Audi TT race car is a blast too. It was so much fun it actually got me down to test drive one for real (I'd have bought it too if I didn't think it was overpriced).

GT5 is licensed for Ferrari, but Porsche gave exclusive rights to other game makers. I think its Porsche's loss, because GranTurisimo is still the big player in driving simulators.

Considering how often GT5 has been delayed, it better be a hell of a game. Still, I'm only 75% of the way through GT4, so its just as well they give me time to complete it before I need to shell out for GT5.

It's not totally surprising either that GTR's and STi's produce faster lap times, they are more forgiving and AWD. The GTR has fantastic computer programming in real life that pulls the car out of trouble, whereas the RUF was a far less sophisticated (but more powerful) machine. The RUF will put out a great lap time, but you need to be very precise, which was modeled on the real cars.
