So I ordered a new Crest for the front of my turbo from PP. It arrives today, in the nice little grey box with the PORSCHE lettering on it, you know, the original Porsche Parts....
Well stuck right to the front of the crest is a made in china sticker. I guess it shouldn't surprise me. Bill |

I'm aware of only two Asian parts existing on my car: the high-torque starter (made in Japan - not a bad thing), and the tires (Thailand - probably by slave labor

Well in that case, don't buy a fuel pump relay made in the last few years...

pwd, I just found it humorous. To be honest, the crest is for my son's Little Tikes blue toddler bed. I bought a sticker and the metal crest (I figured if I didn't use it on the bed, it would come in handy somewhere else or somehow). The sticker works great, so I'll hold onto the crest. I have a neighbor who is thinking of getting a 914 or 912 to *gasp* put a WRX engine into (don't worry, he's looking at some rough ones) and one the 912's we looked at was missing the crest.
My car will never be a concours event type car. Hell, I was super excited to find a 964 turbo with low miles, since that meant someone saved all the miles for me! With regards to the image pwd, I know why you sold the S, and can agree with why you did it, but belive me, I don't think image had much to do with my desire to get back into a 911, had that been the case, I would have bought a 996, that would have a friendlier daily driver than my modded turbo.
