Schu hands everyone their a$$ in Barcelona
Gotta love it... a year off and he jumps in a Ferrari and dominates. Any doubts that he is the fastest ever? I wish this would lead to more seat time, but it doesn't seem like it will. They have already announced that he won't attend the next testing session at Valencia.

When you take away the driver aids like traction control and anti-lock braking, I don't think anyone can touch MS. In the rain without those aids he would dominate even more.
Massa will be in Spain soon for testing, it will be interesting to see how much slower he is than MS. |

No. But we've known that for a long time! The guy is from another planet.
Alsonso, Kimi and Massa - fast drivers, for sure. But put them on a team with a non-winning car, and see what happens. That what makes MS special. He won with a non-competitive car at Bennetton. Then he did it again at Ferrari. He could and did go to teams where other drivers could not win, and made the car and the team a winner. Lewis does look good, though. Very similar IMO to when MS first came on the scene. We'll have to see if he is the total package, though. |

Interesting to see Sebastian Bourdais at P15. With a little more seat time, he could reasonably climb into the top-10.

Indian GP, most likely. Bernie wants lots of money. Well India has the money to pay him.
Competitive, not a chance.

Must be both impressing and depressing for the active drivers when the retired guy jumps in and smoke them smiling.

Correct me if I am wrong but aren't they running the 2007 cars minus TC?
MS is the man, Its remarkable that he is running that fast after a year off, it would indeed be interesting to see at least 1 of the top 4 WC finishers on the track at the same time though. I will be watching Sebastian Bourdais with great interest this year, I am very curious how he is going to settle into F1.

I think Schumie's legacy as an F1 driver is enhanced as much by the class he brought to the sport as by his driving talents and victories. All you had to do was listen to Alonso cry all year about Mclaren to appreciate Schumie.

I am predicting big things for SeaBass in the next few years. I think he'll get into a good seat in the next couple years and really start to shine. He seems to have the total package, unlike Hamilton, who at this point has shown his weaknesses.

Not suprised.
SeaBass, hah I like that. I am really intrigued on how well he will adapt to F1, should be a good year if they keep all the political hub-bub out of it.

I gained a lot of respect for Schumacher after this year's F1 circus. The sport can use a leader who prioritizes performance over talking smack.
I, too, welcome Bourdais. He appears to be a classy chap who drives really well. |

I don't doubt that Schumacher is probably the fastest driver in an F1 car, but I would point out that testing times are utterly useless at telling us anything. We don't know who was running what fuel load, we don't know what they were testing and therefore the effect it would have, we don't know tires, engine spec (yeah yeah, I know, engine development frozen for the next millenia).

If you think for a moment these guys are not out there trying to top the timesheets your mistaken. There is nothing more damaging to the other teams moral than tearing them a new one during practice as well. I am sure Renault and Red Bull both put some sticky tires on and ran light fuel loads to close the gap as small as possible just because. If Ferrari is running down in P15 when the 2008 car is launched everyone will be proclaiming they have a bad car and suddenly off season practice will hold a lot of weight.

I would love to Shumie back in a Ferrari for next year. He would show Hamilton a new way around. Right about the back markers, they only hope to be on the charts with low fuel, stickies. As far as Mr. Bourdias, he only hopes he can be in the top 10 in any race. He was a star in a series that had NOBODY to race against, with a car that was way above the rest. He is a "flash in the pan" as far as racing drivers go. He wont get a top 7 in all of 2008.
