Sorry Dan, nice try, the deal in Ireland is about independance much more than religion.

To my knowledge, nobody had their head chopped off because they went to mass, and it has never been illegal to be Catholic in the UK.

Thanks for playing

Right, so its not similar AT ALL. What do they want independence from? I'm sure you could say the Palestinians are just fighting for independence too, but that pesky religion tends to nicely divide the sides again, doesn't it?

Over 3000 people were killed by paramilitary organizations on both sides via bombings and shootings since 1969; I'm sure they're counting their blessing that no one was beheaded, or that their religion is legal.

To be honest, I'm not sure what you're looking for here. Muslim countries are 3rd world countries, but so are Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, atheist, etc. Are we going to bomb them all for being backwards? The inability to run a 1st world secular state grounds for attack, or hate, or whatever...?

Oh, an last I heard, Turkey is up for joining the EU. It has a democratic, stable (member of the G20), secular, peaceful government, and its 99% Muslim.
