Have you ever driven on 128 ? plenty of exits there - plenty of accidents as well.
Though I think they save their most boneheaded tactics for a visit up old rt. 1

One thing I always admired about Massachusetts however is how uniformly the town boundaries are delineated between one community and the next. Very large, white signs. They're actually kind of artistic too. There's never any doubt which town you're in. I haven't run into this in any other state - particularly California. Half the time in CA you have no idea what town you're in. . .

But yes, the general traffic control-type signs are poor and tend to be placed in areas where trees grow in front of them, they tend to plow snowbanks over them, etc. I agree they're generally poor, but at least you'll always know what town you're in so you call the right police department for the accident. :)

W/O a doubt, South Florida drivers ARE the WORST!

It's a little bogus. Knowing how many feet before the turn to activate your turn signal doesn't make you a better driver than someone who guesses wrong on that question. A 55% score on that one tells me that there were two multiple choice answers that were close, and people guessed one or the other, mostly.

The only way, really, to evaluate a driver's skill is to drive with them.

Let's give a "Shout Out" to Mississippi.....For once they are not on the bottom of a national pole (and Alabama isn't in 49th)!

I have to concur with the comments about southern FL.........Those people are @#&! nuts! My dad lived in Key Biscyane for almost 20 yrs and moved out four years ago because he could not tolerate all of the crazy drivers. Now he's in Naples and the only thing he as to worry about is some ol'fart driving down the wrong side of the road. Look on the brigher side......at least they're not driving 90mph in the wrong lane!

Not surprised Massachusetts drivers ranked so poorly. They'll cut their own children off in traffic (that is, if they haven't eaten them for breakfast, yet) if it'll save them a carlength. Between the ignorance of the rules of the road, and the pervasive rudeness that made virtually every rush hour trip in a car unpleasant, I'm glad I'm gone from there. Makes L.A. seem civil, in comparison.

I had a professor emeritus in Boston who used to run redlights regularly. A passenger (another professor of mine--imagine that: when a professor of yours had the same professor when he was a student 25 years earlier) commented about that during one ride. The older prof just turned and said, "What do you think, we're so stupid in Boston we need a little light to tell us when it's safe to go?"

Funny how the country's most prestigious engineering college is located in Massachusetts, yet the civil engineering is amongst the utter worst I've ever encountered. No street signs because if you don't know what street this is, you don't really belong 'round these parts. If there are signs, little thought is actually given to posting them in a place that's visible to those that need to see it. Multiple one-way streets in a row...all going in the same direction. The best were the State Route signs put up in Western Mass (Easthampton?) a couple years ago, where the route number was posted on top of a silhouette image of the state. Somehow, no one from the Mass DOT noticed that the state depicted was Alabama.
