Just watching the History Channel.

According to "Tactical to Practical" the taser was invented by a fan of the Tom Swift books. "TASER" stands for "Tom Albert Swift Electric Rifle".

I just thought that was interesting.

That is interesting. I would have thought it was some kind of take off on 'laser'.
