Be Thankful Today
Thanksgiving has changed for me over the last few years, after my Grandmother passed a few years back, I was very close to her and Thanksgiving & Christmas Dinner where always held at her home, when she passed, TGD just started loosing its appeal. Then, last year, on this day (Nov. 22) I lost one of my very best friends (to Cancer) and it still hits me very hard.

Hang in Byron...and do enjoy the day. Cindy & I are going to head out to our favorite pool hall, perhaps join up with a long time PCA buddy who will probably also be alone today.
Keep the good memories with your buddy alive, okay? It looks like he's in darned good company now. Also, don't forget to scritch the cats behind their ears. Wish you were in the Willamette Valley... Don't feel sorry for me...I'd rather be shooting balls than most anything these days...:) |
Been there and done that. As we get older we realize how much more we appreciate our real friends and family. Find one of them and spend a few hours with them. There will be a time when they might not be with us and you will be glad you did.
Happy Thanksgiving from a cold and wintery Berlin! Joe |
