The folks in the small town of Crystal Falls, MI, far up in the frozen north have a town meeting to honor their World War II veterans.

The mayor turns the microphone over to the first vet, so he can tell his story.

The old vet says, "Well, we were flyin our Mustangs over France, ya know? and dis whole group a' Fokkers come racin down on us, eh?"

The mayor pulls the microphone towards him, and says, "Folks, just as a historical note, Fokker was a type of German fighter plane at the time."

The vet says, "Naw, naw, des Fokkers were flying Messerschmitts!"
