my wedding/honeymoon thread...

got home saturday night from our wedding and honeymoon, was a great time and things went for lack of a better term perfect.

the wedding was held on the beach in north carolina and we went to disney world for the honeymoon, i have alot to post so i'll do it in parts as the timeframe was over 12 days

PART 1.......

we left early wed the 24th, we took michelles honda crv, average gas milage but no worries....ran perfectly cruising at 80-85mph the whole trip.

we spent the night at my sisters in broadway nc which is about dead center of the state, thursday morning we headed through wilminton to carolina beach.
the nightime didn't really rain much, watching the full moon over the ocean and heavy patchy clouds made for some awesome views of the moonlight illuminating over the water in patches.....i had never seen the moonlight like this.....here are some pics..

saturday mornings sunrise looked to be a good sign....
this

to this

friday and saturday morning (wedding day) it was raining pretty good though, enough michelle was freaking out a bit, but i had things covered, the rev who married us actually had a beach house just up from where we were and he offered his home in case it was raining too hard, we were fine with a light sprinkle.....but this gave us the backup plan.
so the time comes and we decided to go for it on our beach outside the hotel, but it started raining harder, so we decided we should take some "dry pics" before we headed outside, the rev's wife was handling all the photos.

we got done with the pics and decided it was time, the moment we opened the door to head out to the beach it literaly stopped raining and the sun came out........weird i thought.....with the associated sign of relief.
the ceremony went over without a hitch.
we had a small group of guests (which is what we wanted)....but a glance at the hotel balconies showed we had probably about 100 people watching from afar

when we were done the photographer wanted one last shot of us walking up the boardwalk and waving "bye" for the last pic of the photo package......it was at that time the rain switch turned back on.....so the timing could not have been any more perfect, along with everything else.

sunday morning we got up early and headed down the coast, this portion of the trip started off with a coffee on a ferry ride from fort fisher, then down through charleston sc and on to disneyworld, michelle wanted disney....so that's what i gave her.
i had never been there, she was there a bunch growing up but she had no idea what was in store for her......nor did i....kinda

disney will be part 2....i'm done typing for tonite........lol

PART 2...........

ferry ride early am sunday

then some starbucks....

then cleaning up the starbucks after my cup slipped which is now half full LOL

crossing the big bridge in charleston....

after checking into disney sunday night (we stayed at port orleans riverside) we got rested up for monday....our resort....

first thing when we woke up it was raining......but no big deal we bought a few ponchos and we were good....nice thing about the rain is it keeps it cool, second it keeps people away, we didn't wait in line for anything.....we walked up and got on.....this was the theme for the week, which is unheard of at disney so i'm told

michelle took one of the best pictures she ever took during the safari from a bouncy suburban based tram.......here it is....

being we got done with the animal kingdom park early (due to no lines) we shot over to epcot for a quick ride on "test track" then headed over to the grand floridian to meet up with some of michelles friends who "crashed" our honeymoon......good people so no worries
test track is a fun ride, i was suprised that the braking tests we no where near as violent as my 911......it made me miss my car but i was laughing the whole ride

monday evening we ate at the african buffet (Kona) in the animal kingdom resort with michelles friends, this was one of the best meals we had during our weeklong stay, i highly suggest checking it out if you go.
we had a little suprise show up at our table

after dinner we headed back to the grand floridian to watch some fireworks....

that was monday.......things get even better......that'll be part 3

The African Buffet was Boma. (Kona was where we had Tonga Toast!)

Pics look great! Sounds like you really had a lot of fun. Maybe Michelle and you can come over for cards some night soon?

NCB: Boom's wedding will likely be summer '09 for various reasons. Bouncing baby girl came 4 weeks early though but she's very healthy.

sorry for the delay but it's been a busy week

no babies yet, after we relocate or we never will relocate and we both want out of ohio.

PART 3.....
tuesday oct 30...

michelle corrected me above for the wrong names.....boma is the african buffet at the animal kingdom lodge, kona is at the polynesian....

we get up early and head over to the polynesian resort to the Kona cafe for some "tonga toast"......imagine a big french toast sandwich with bananas and such....good stuff

then on to the mgm park, we did most everything and had no lines.....again.....
the tower of terror was fun, as was rockin roller coaster and the other rides.

we watched their stunt show "lights motion action" which was cool, 1300cc bike engines in all the cars buzzing at 12k, tire smoke and some choreographed driving "scenes", plus who doesn't like the smell of burnt rubber.......

then we got in the short line for the backlot tour ride tram, before the tram they do a little show with a fake boat being under attack using lots of water effects......we were grabbed out of the que line and we asked if we wanted to "partake" in the next show.......of course we did, they stuck us in some heavy rain gear and gave a quick "what to do", michelle and i were shipmates and when the boat was being "attacked" we were to run around like crazy people, so basically we were ourselves
we got wet and it was fun.......unfortunately we didn't get it on our camera, but snapped some pics of the next show.....
the boat (we were on the bow but not us in the pics lol)
