need video editing help!!

Help me out, I am idiot when it come to computors (and some other stuff)

I took some video of my drive today and want to edit it. When I click on "properties" it shows the file type as "video clip" It plays happily in Windows media player, but I would like to edit, clip, cut etc the file a bit.

What program do I need??

Thanks

If Windows XP, go to Start -> Programs and Windows Movie Maker should be in the list. That will allow you to import the video you recorded and do some basic editing.

I have never used it, but it should be fairly straight forward.
