What is this car?

Just to jump in first - Maser birdcage? Kinda has that look....but ....?

I'm sure its not a bird cage but not sure what it actually is?

Yeah, no head lamps, rear fender ducts plus it's a monoposto. Looks like a knock-off of the birdcage shape though.

could it be a Cooper Climax? (of course, it's not...but I just couldn't resist. The lines do look cooper based, for sure)

It is the the Roger Penske Zerex Special Cooper Climax at Laguna Seca in 1962. Where he won the race.

thanks Matt, that's exactly what it is. This was labeled a 1963 Penske magazine advertisement BTW.

Shaun - The car was then sold to Mclaren which started the very successful Mclaren Can Am cars.
