Porsche reports sales gain...
Even Porsche is planning on the 2008 recession:
U.S. Preparations "We're making very good money in the U.S.'' even as the dollar may decline to as low as $1.60 a euro, Haerter said. Porsche has prepared for a possible recession in the U.S. by reducing its supply of cars in the country. "Porsche is independent of the cycle within the U.S. market,'' said Arndt Ellinghorst, an analyst at Credit Suisse in London. "Our research shows no relation between Porsche's sales growth in the U.S. and the rest of the market.'' http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601100&sid=aGkmgLESwL5I&refer=germany |

Hmmm...I haven't been to a Porsche dealership lately to see what's on the lot, but Jeez, I sure see many, from 911s to Cayennes, on the LA roads.

I don't think a large portion of Porsches market are folks that simply feel flush with cash after looking at Zillow.com. It seems like most of the Porsche drivers I meet planned to get a Porsche for quite a while, and bought one when they could afford it. I'm sure they will take a hit if the economy goes Tango Uniform, but it won't be huge.
