You assume "a few hundred" Palestinians who were happy about 9/11. Yea right.

You assume the standard condolences from oppressive governments reflect the attitudes of the citizens. Yea right.

OK OK Define patriot.

I have arrived at the point where ANYONE defending the current administration MUST be off their meds to some degree. And the agument of "Would XXX done any different"? is disingenuous at the very best because a "what if" in history is an exercise in futility.

We are in a mess, folks.....and those who cannot see that are really the problem. GWB is NOT a genius. Rove is not a sage. Cheney is FAR from believable anymore. It keeps getting worse. Rove now saying it is the fault of Congress that we invaded Iraq? All one has to do is g to the Whitehouse.gov site and back to he fall of 2002 to see why THAT statement is far from the truth.

There are good people in Washington; many who have been marginalized because they did not follow the strict "party line" and the rest of us live with this, shrug our shoulders, shake our heads and just accept it. The current administration is made up of absolutists. "Either you are with us or you are against us" leaves NO room for independent thought, since independent thought might just lead the thinker to a different conclusion. And that would label the individual as giving aid to the enemy ar worse, a traitor.

Inflexible loyalty to any doctrine or belief system leads to a paraylisis of the mind.

There are several folks posting on this thread (myself included) who are probably a LOT more conservative than some of you guys who consistently sling the "liberal" label at anyone who disagrees with the path we have taken. That in itself isn't really bothersome, as it's become the norm of politics anymore (and I pretty much stay away from the political bs), but I do wonder if you REALLY believe some of the stuff you attempt to defend.

Moneyguy1 11-29-2007 06:24 AM

Labelling is far easier than thinking.

I used to be a liberal when liberals demanded freedom of conscience and other basic human rights for our fellow man. In this decade, liberals have jumped the shark and now stand for anything that is opposite to the Bush Administration.

I can almost understand that position re: the current administration's policies, both domestic and international. Where it has gone awry is personalizing it and attributing all of the decisions to Bush. President Bush has not come up with the policies in a vacuum. He is surrounded by a lot of people with agendas and those are the ones he listens to. He IS the President, and therefore the policies become his. Those recommending the policies are hidden behind the veil of "executive privelege".

Huh?
You are the guy who believes "The Corporation" (Walmart) will soon overthrow the US government, using Blackwater as its army. Enough said.
