Baby Grace
Nothing shocks me in this twisted world anymore... but reading what these 'parents' did to this poor child made my heart cry out in despair.
Rehabilitation is beyond the hope for these monsters. A stronger solution needs to be made, to keep criminals such as this put away in pine boxes forever. Capital Punishment. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21977817/ |

this is the reason I believe in the death penalty. when you do this kind of thing, you cease to be considered a human being and should just be put down.

Several of my friends have kids that age. There is an innocence and sweetness among young children that is priceless. I cannot even begin to think what mental defect can allow someone to do this to a child. I refuse to believe that two humans are capable of collaborating on this. I concur with Shaun's assessment.

+1000. Those people should be wiped off the face of the earth as well as THEIR parents for bringing such monsters into the world.

My wife is a social worker. Although it's not her department, she works closely with people in child protection, and many of her friends are in that team.
We had a few of them over at a party last week. Some of the stories are just terrible. Recently, they had a baby who had been bit, shaken and then swung by her leg into a wall... injuries than had taken place over days & weeks. Even then, they say the hardest cases are neglect. With physical abuse, it's pretty cut & dry... doctors notes, witnesses. Proving neglect or emotional abuse is nearly impossible. As long as kids have the "essentials", food, water, heat and a "secure" living environment, it's hard to intervene. I can't imagine how hard it would be... seeing some of these parents and environments, and having to leave the kids there. One of them said something that really struck me, when I asked WHY peopel like this have children: "For a lot of people, getting pregnant is something that just happens to you, like falling down stairs or forgetting to pay a parking ticket." It's not about the joy of being a parent, or seeing a kid enjoy life. It's an inconvenience and a disruption of your daily routine. Something you have to deal with, instead of something you're blessed with. How sad is that?

I've long been an opponent of the death penalty, but that opposition has softened over the last couple years, mostly due to stories like this. I still pretty much disagree with the principal of it, but in a case like this, I don't think you could argue that either of the "parents" deserve a right to live.
Maybe it's because I've become a parent recently (our first is 16 months old and is sleeping blissfully upstairs) but I've become much more sensitive to stories like these. I really don't understand how you can be neglectful, let alone deliberately abusive, to your own child. We spent (and still spend) so much effort making sure our little girl is safe and secure (we're not overly paranoid, just sensible) not to mention happy. This is one coin I just can't see the other side of.

If I picked them up I would have an extremely difficult time not accidentally smacking the side of their head into the roof of the squad before I shoved them in back...
Frickin' maddening

On the other hand, there are babies who are a complete nuissance from the day they are born. They are taken out of the crib (begrudgingly) to be fed and changed, but are given no real attention or affection. They are given the bare minumum, then pushed aside, day after day. Without stimulus and attention, they don't develop mentally or socially like other kids. Again, not abuse, and wouldn't fit the strict guidelines for neglect.

Yep! Little baby Emma. I told them that if it was a boy, I'd give them $1000 if they name him Jake. If it's a girl... $2000.
Pretty exciting stuff, my second niece. Makes stories like this hard to read about. My wife comes home with stories every week, although not as gruesome as this. One social worker said that the kids of neglectful/abusive parent often end up "in the system" for life. One kid that she had as a child protection case in now in the system for mental issues, tying up & beating a neighbor's dog to death. 8 years old. What do you think his next 50-70 years are going to be like?

Being a parent is
1. One of the most challenging jobs in the world. 2. One of the ONLY jobs you don't need to apply for. You only have to be able to do ONE (1) thing. And you don't even have to be good at it. That story makes me feel awful.

Why kill them??? That's just wrong.
Why not torture them for the rest of their lives. One I learned from Vlad the Impaler is to make an incision around their face and pull their whole face off. And then watch 'em die.

As a father of a two year old I've developed some sensitivity that I never had before on that topic... And I can't describe my anger... really for these animals and pedofiles there is just one punishment. They'll rot in hell.

Vengance is one thing... and using Capital Punishment as a deterrent to future such crimes (either by example, or simply putting those monsters to sleep forever) is another.
But what hurts me the most is that this sweet girl, only 2 had to bear the brutality and hatred of these monsters. What harm could a 2 year old possibly do to deserve such treatment? none... It reflects on the "disposable" society that we live in. Reading the Detroit papers tonight, another couple killed their baby, tried to creamate her and sealed the bones in the ceiling of their house...and then collected welfare on the child. It is terrible and I have decided to look into donating my time to help these abused kids. |

I almost threw up reading that story. That poor, poor little girl.
Now the monsters should not be put to death directly. They should be: 1. Buggered by a large horse. 2. Force fed large volume of their own feces. 3. Eyes plucked out. 4. Hands and feet chopped off with a dull axe. Slowly. 5. Flogged severely. 6. Face burned off with sulfur acid. Repeat daily for two weeks. Then burned alive until almost dead. Then left slowly dying in a ditch while repeatedly pissed upon. And thatīs just to start off.

I can't understand how two parents could mutually agree to be so abusive to their child, did they both have abusive parents? Nothing can justify this kind of treatment, it just defies comprehension.
Such a beautiful child, these parents are truly evil. it will be interesting to see what their defense is. |
