Name your Porsche?

How many people have a name for their Porsche and do they call it a girl?
I don't, just asking.

This was covered not long ago. BTW, mine is called "the beater".

Our Son asked me once why I refer to Targa as a "she". I told him that like a girl, it has smooth lines, makes your heart pound, needs to be treated just right, can confuse you with various problems that you can never truly understand and should always be respected and never abused.

He thinks I should call her "Mom" then...

Yes my 944 has a name and yes it is feminine.

SlowToady 11-27-2007 08:18 PM

Bright kid. Already grasping the typical concept of any average family. :D

the 356 was often called "the old timer" by dad, the 911 in gun metal blue is/was "the bullet"

Shaun @ Tru6 11-28-2007 04:25 AM

My 84 was the red car, 73 was the track car, 69 is the E.

Only car I ever named was a 63 VW crewcab pick-up, Beasley.

I don't get the whole "working on my baby" thing. that's just weird.

The 11......!

My wife calls the 911 Charlene - watch the Simpsons episode where Bart plays Todd Flanders in the mini golf competition and you'll get it. I do refer to her sometimes as "the old girl".

CJFusco 11-28-2007 07:18 AM

Even though mine says "ruby" in my sig, I never really call her that. It's usually either just "the Porsche," "the turbo", or "the porker". Sometimes, for understandable reasons, she's known as "that f@cking car".

Girls that I work with like to name the car, though. One calls it the "Jolly Rancher" and another calls it "Craisin", after similar-colored foodstuffs.

Uh............no. I do NOT "name" my cars.

Neither do I write in purple or pink ink
I don't sign my name with a little smiley face as the dot over the "i"
I don't describe things as "cute", "precious" or "adorable" and...
I don't paint my toenails.

Right, you pay someone else to do that for you. Like the rest of us. :D

No names... the 930 tag says "Rakete" but I don't call it that. It's "the Porsche" or "the 930".

Palum6o 11-28-2007 08:16 AM

mine's called 'the porsche'

Noah930 11-28-2007 08:37 AM

No names for my cars or bikes. I guess if I had to, it would probably be a masculine name, though. Same with the current moto. They're both hairy-beast types. But, FWIW, my son has named the 911 the "Smiley Car."

Very funny, Lubey. Don't know if I should share that one with my wife.
