Arkansas Democratic leader dies after shooting Arkansas Democratic Party Chairman Bill Gwatney died today, hours after a shooting at the state party's headquarters, police said. The suspect was shot by police after a chase and also later died, officials said. Former President Clinton and Sen. Hillary Clinton issued a statement saying they were "deeply saddened" by Gwatney's death. Talk amongst yourselves.

First reports said he died, later news report said he was in critical condition.
I hope the latter is correct, and I hope he makes a complete recovery. |

Thanks for the offer Jim.  I'm just dreading "that call" right now. I've had older (and not-so-old) family members dropping like flies the past few years and I know that some day soon we are going to have to drop everything and head down to Arkansas on short notice. Because of the distance and remoteness, it's doubtful we will get there in time to influence the situation.
