Scrubs
I don't watch much TV anymore unless it's car stuff or the news but I stumbled across "Scrubs" in reruns.
What a funny show! Dr Cox is aptly named, I must say. And he drives a 911. I haven't seen the entire car but it looks like it is an SC or Carrera based on the seat design. Plus the nurses are mostly hot. The females, you clowns.:p |
Funny you should bring the series up, we don't have live tv at the house but I buy/sell dvd's at the shop and several seasons of Scrubs have come through and been pulled for home consumption. When my college freshman son heard he asked if Dr. Cox was my favorite character. The kid may be smarter than I thought.
My wife is a hospital respiratory therapist, says it's unrealistic but gets an occasional giggle from the show. I haven't seen much in the way of hot nurses but have been able to stay awake through an episode or two/night. Jim |
I love Scrubs. Yep, Cox is my fav character. Generally only the blond in scrubs does it for me (she used to be the blond daughter in "Rosanne"). Too, Cox's wife is pretty hot, but was better when she was younger and on Drew Carey.
I also watch House, and guess who my fav character is on that one.... Yeah, that show's got some hotties too. Hmm, another show that I like, Bones. The chick that plays Bones is the sister of the chick that was in "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". There's a sandwich that I'd like to be a part of, a Deschanel sister sandwich. |
Dr. Cox is the only reason I can watch those re-runs. The other doctors are ghey. I catch myself yelling at the TV telling them act like men dammit ;)
The blonde female doctor is OK to look at but is a psycho from hell just waiting to screw some guys life up. I would like to kick the crap out of that janitor guy. |
This is the last season. It was a good run though.

He slightly edges out Dr. Cox as my favorite character on the show. |
Scrubs is pretty good. For serious laughs, though, nothing beats the shortly-lived ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.

I missed the whole last season of that show because they changed the day to one that I couldn't watch--and I didn't have a DVR yet. Favorite joke from the show: "What's this? The new Bronco?" "No, Ford discontinued it after it became associate with fleeing criminals." "So what's this called?" "The Escape." The Office is good too... |
SCRUBS is one of my shows. It shoots at a now closed hospital in Sherman Oaks.

Hugh, it's still running? it's not shown anywhere in Europe on TV, so and all i can find is series 6 on dvd... it's seriously the best thing i've seen in ages... all the characters are just brilliant in their own right...
|
Yeah, it went on Hiatus (break) about a month ago due to the writer's strike. It was supposed to end its season mid-January. Its a pretty easy going show with normal hours, not the crazy hours of many of my other shows. A few funny gags (stunts) here and there. This is its last season. 9 seasons is very respectable for any TV show.

I was a fan from the first season. When I was living in Pasadena back in '99-02 my next door neighbor was the assistant editor on the show. He liked pretty much all the cast. They were often able to do the tear-jerker moments without having a heavy hand. Not easy to do...very good writing.

Sometimes catch the re-runs - the blond is pretty hot, I like the hispanic nurse Carla. Sometimes, late at night, I picture her in a little nurse's dress with no undies and she gives me that look and says "ova here poppy, give me sump'n to make me sore..."
agh...I gottas to go now |
Been running over here a couple of years now
I saw it and liked it, some American comedies rely too heavily on tame studio audience on too much caffeine judging by riotous applause every second, this show seems consistently funny in itself though. Strong charactors, Cox/Turk /JD & Janitor (my fave) and yes I accept British humour stopped just after Python finished |

If you can find the Paramount Comedy channel on satellite, you'll see it. |
