The Top Gear blog about the Hamsters visit is quite amusing.

How did Hamilton get such a fast time?

He's Hamilton! Plus he seemed like he was having lots of fun with it and not taking it too seriously.

That episode was awesome. Hamilton was one of the better guests they have had. I especially liked when Jeremy said that he probably wanted a partner that was a bad driver and Hamilton offered him the job.
Good Stuff

It seems like the rest of the F1 drivers were within a second accounting for rain. Hamilton was 3 seconds faster than that.

Hamilton was funnier than I expected that he would be.

I hope he can keep his humility and sense of humor during his F1 career. I'd hate for him to turn out like Alonso one day...

Great episode, thanks for uploading! The F-1 segment was a hoot. I remember heading into turn 8 at Willow Springs for the first time in a Formula Atlantic knowing that I was going too slow for any aerodynamic downforce to keep the car on the track. Terrifying!

He would need to start putting some Rogaine on his eye brows to catch up.
