Putting terrorism into perspective

http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/134287/Tamil_Suicide_Bomber_Explodes.html
At around 2:30 the woman in the white garment at the desk on the left, stands up and reaches into here clothes, pulls on something and then explodes. I'm still in shock from watching this.........

HardDrive 12-01-2007 11:07 PM

Death. Happens every second of everyday.

1fastredsc 12-02-2007 12:50 PM

It's the way that she does it so casually though.........

What do you mean? Is death in this manner acceptable to you?

Put your dumb a$$ behind the table, Sparky.

Death is death. The manner in which it visits us is not for us to accept or deny. Any sensible person will avoid death. What this woman did was a terrible thing, both by ending her own life and taking those of others.

But our tax dollars have paid Blackwater employees to murder hundreds, if not thousands of innocent people. Those deaths were not shocking? Those deaths were acceptable? Because they weren't broadcast on Youtube.com for all to see, they are acceptable?

Given the conduct of this country in the last 4 years, to have the audacity to claim that murdering innocent people is some how shocking or wrong.....now THAT is unacceptable.

Got your underwear in quite a knot there. Try a few deep breaths.

But...

You don't even know where that happened, do you? Tamil and Blackwater...nice try, Sparky.

Edit: Death. Happens every second of everyday.

Such fallacious nonsense. It's amazing that you can get out of the house with your load of guilt about being a US citizen. Did the US task Blackwater with killing as many civi's as possible? Or particular persons. Or by suiciding?

Shaun @ Tru6 12-02-2007 04:32 PM

this is the best gross example of the almost infinite scale at which an insurgency can operate. I don't think anything in the typical American experience can provide perspective for this event.

Sri Lanka is a tiny island (270 miles x 140 miles), and yet the Tamil Tigers have flourished. When I was in India last month, the Tigers had launched an air attack on a Sri Lankan military base, destroying several planes on the ground and killing a dozen or so soldiers.

How does an insurgency on an island develop to such a maturity level that it has both the civilian population willing to kill themselves for virtually nothing and can operate an "air force?"

Here's how:
"Most of the supplies were from the countries of the former Soviet Union. They have also captured large quantities of arms from the security forces.

Most of the finance for the purchase of arms and other political and military activities is raised through expatriate activists in the West.

Methods are reported to vary from extortion, illegal trade and front organisations to legitimate business and charities.

Dedicated fighters

Tamil Tiger recruits are given a rigorous military training and ideological makeover.

On passing out, each one is handed a cyanide capsule to be worn around the neck. Martyrdom is achieved through avoiding capture by suicide."

More joy from the peace loving muslims.

Maybe you can put a red R by your rhetorical questions, so we can tell the difference. I thought you were just short on information, and I still do! The answer may not have been to your PC liking, but was accurate. You know what they say about the truth? Nah, maybe you don't. Well what they say is, the truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.

STAY ALERT!

They walk among us... and the scary part is that they VOTE and they REPRODUCE

For that you win the Moonbat of the Day award- today we're featuring a brand new Kerry-Edwards bumper sticker. I'm sure your old one is looking a little tatty.
