How much more can Bush weaken the U.S.?

He bankrupted an oil company because it couldn't find oil in TX. he managed the TX Rangers into nothingness...trading Sammy Sosa to the White Sox.

The man is hellbent on destroying everything he touches.

TEHRAN, Iran — A new U.S. intelligence review concluding Iran stopped developing an atomic weapons program in 2003 is a "declaration of victory" for Iran's nuclear program, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday.

Russia's foreign minister, meanwhile, indicated that the U.S. report's findings undermined Washington's push for a new set of U.N. sanctions against Iran.

The U.S. intelligence report released Monday concluded that Iran had stopped its weapons program in late 2003 and shown no signs since of resuming it, representing a sharp turnaround from a previous intelligence assessment in 2005.

"This is a declaration of victory for the Iranian nation against the world powers over the nuclear issue," Ahmadinejad told thousands of people during a visit to Ilam province in western Iran.

"This was a final shot to those who, in the past several years, spread a sense of threat and concern in the world through lies of nuclear weapons," Ahmadinejad said, drawing celebratory whistles from the crowd.

So which NIE did Bush fabricate? The 2003 or 2005 version?

Hmm, they halted in late '03? What was going on at that time that might have influenced them to stop?

It's almost as if they are more inclined to respond to threats than empty words.

I think Kerry and Clinton were over there doing two party talks at the time. It just didn't get much press.

Both Parties do their best to leave the White House (and the country) in the WORST possible shape just as they walk out the door. It allows them to point fingers at the new administration and say "Look how bad things are screwed up NOW ...with (so and so) in office!

And the unwashed masses will read the paper/watch the news and ...believe!

So we suspected them of making Nuclear arms and the world hates us... Then we say, "Okay, we've verified that they are probably not" and we/Bush are getting even MORE flack?

Chris , the flack is based on Bush going big with the WWIII rhetoric 2 months ago after being briefed on the NIE in August.

So they stopped trying to make the actual bombs, which they have never admitted to doing in the first place, but that is the relatively easy part.

They have not only continued with the hard part, enriching uranium, but have accelerated that. The Israelis are not buying that they are no longer pursuing nuclear weapons, because that is not something a reasonable person would believe.

Clearly we need to rush to war.

That is beside the point, any chance to bash Bush must be exploited....Even if it means pretending Iran is our new friend. ;)

Tobra doesn't seem to understand the difference between uranium enrichment for power plants and what's required for bombs, including the processing equipment involved.

The problem with Bush is that he's so unbelievable when he says that last Tuesday his world was rocked by the latest NIE. He's been peddling the specter of WWIII for months. What did he know and when did he know it? IMO, he's been bull*****ting America again so he can start another war and Spread Democracy to the Middle East (TM). Bush only knows enough to be dangerous.

Profits at American oil companies are down this year.
