Got some very bad news today...
My 51 year old cousin in VA died today. She had a cerebral hemorrhage and by the time she made it to the hospital it was too late. The family is rushing out to sign the papers to take her off life support and donate any organs they can. This was completely unexpected and really shook our family up, of course. My poor aunt is inconsolable. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose your child. Anyway, I'm having a whiskey on the rocks and trying to remember the happy times with my cousin.

This is one of those really *****y things that happen usually without warning. I've lost some friends and seen coworkers loose their wives with no more warning than a headache. My cousin caught it early and had surgery.
My thoughts are with you... hang in there.

Outa the blue and into the black just like that.
Last Wednesday mornining my cozin gives a call and says his moms just passed away at 93. On Friday I get a call from my friend Sandi, shes in the hospital with an embolism on the lung, and today she calls and says shes got pneumonia

Very sorry to hear, Art.
I've been putting off calling a few cousins and an aunt I've lost contact with since my folks died about 6 years ago. Seems my parents were the thread that bound so many of my relatives together. I will use this as a good reason to stop procrastinating. My condolences. |

Art, sorry to hear about your cousin.
I guess in a way, each year we get older a little closer to death we feel. The amount of people my own age already passed on is getting longer for sure. Hang in there.

It really is messed up just how close death always is. Sorry to hear about this, It is cool that they are going to use her still-living organs to save some lives.
