Actually B&H photo has a great reputation- at least in the pro photo world. They tend to have the lowest real prices, and although their approach can sometimes be somewhat rude, have always stood behind their products. I have no relation with them at all, and sometimes they piss me off as well- but they are one of the best photo mailorder houses around. Don't forget amazon prime is $79/year, so you have prepaid for shipping. B&H is likely the same price, but is "charging" $2.50 for shipping and handling. It all comes out to about the same. Amazon is easier to order from, and if you already prepaid shipping, it certainly makes sense to use it. The pricing structure, however, is simply not the different.

Pricegrabber has Amazon in its database. You have to manually check the shipping costs, since Prime won't show up in Pricegrabber.

I recently purchased a set of Weathertech mats for my Mercedes from Amazon. I was surprised to see that they had automotive stuff and the best price too.

I don't recall every paying sales tax at Amazon..... they do have pretty good prices, but you can often find better. I use Froogle from time to time to beat Amazon's prices. Return policy is A+++, as long as you buy directly from them, and not from one of the vendor suppliers.

Ditto on Amazon...they were a good $45-50 less on a Sony digital camera than anywhere else I had checked, I was really suprised.

I just purchased a Garmin 660 from Amazon and it was over $100 cheaper than Costco. Free ship and no tax is nice, however, it's shipped Parcel Post which is my very least favorite of all shipping methods. I think they used to ship UPS ground which is much better.

I have to look into the Prime membership.

Just bought a 50 inch Sony LCD at Amazon. There were a few other vendors a bit cheaper, but many of them had horrible customer service ratings. It was worth the 20 bucks more at Amazon. I received the TV in 5 days with free shipping and no tax! I saved 500-700 dollars by purchasing online.... and no dumba$$ salesmen and customers to remind me to never leave my house again.

For batteries I go to batteries.com

I've "rediscovered" Amazon as well. I did most of my Christmas shopping at Amazon. Can't beat free 2-day shipping.

The best prices for items like you describe are 1. Ebay, 2. Amazon, and 3 anywhere else. I buy often from eBay and the first place I check to see if the price is inline is Amazon. Of course I trust Amazon better and it generally has free shipping, so I'm willing to pay slightly more. Amazon has gotten great ratings from Consumer Reports for customer service also.
