Dallas Roads.

What's up with the roads around here?

It's been raining. Had the 911 delivered yesterday. Spinning tires like it's snow. Car feels like it's skating.

Saw accidents today that made no sense, among them a flipped car on a 40 mph straight stretch.

Roads don't feel like they provide enough traction.

Oil collects on roads during dry weather. Light rain/mist like we had the first part of the day float the oil to the top. It's slip and slide time. After a good rain, most of the oils wash away - until the next dry spell. Wrecks are from idiots driving too fast for conditions.

Mark is correct, but we like to tell folks that it is because they are following the Aston Martins too close (gives the helicopter reporters something to talk about).

Yeah I know all about that. This was different. It definitely rained hard enough around here today to eliminate that.

We had a stretch of twisty road up on LI that was repaved and immediately the accident rate during rain went through the roof. If you had driven it in the rain you could feel something was not right. They found the material used was supposed to have better dry traction but was useless in the wet.

That tire oil has to go someplace. You are correct, I have seen some real interesting bang-ups here. It doesn't help that some people drive like they are on fire.
