every time mine does that I cant get a screen shot.

working on an old checkpoint firewall back in the 90's when I tried to do a firewall update I would very often get the error "Something odd has occurred."

Yeah, that's my all-time favorite. :mad:

I'm puzzeled by the term "Unexpected error" which seems to imlpy that there are expected errors, or things that they know will go wrong.

Generally for me, it would freeze with the button in the 'clicked down' state. Sounds like we've been on the same end of things.

is that error with the bomb from a mac?

Yeah- its like a windows blue screen, except the message has a little bomb on it and is therefore cuter. Kind of like a turd rolled in cinnamon and sugar.

Yup. Then if you got one of these, with the very weird and ominous "chime", you were really hosed.

I once got:

Lots of great error messages in the Linux kernel source - just recursively grep for anything calling panic()

I got one like that every time I rebooted with my wireless kb. I had to keep a wired one plugged in at all times. :rolleyes:

Yeah, you'll always feel good using whatever you installed after that too- you know that somewhere, lurking in the dark, is an error of epic proportions.

I actually downloaded a small windows app in college that was a "random error generator". You could set it to pop up a window with a random error every so often, and set the severity of the errors. I would run it when I let my friends use my computer.

It would generate errors like: "User Error: Replace user and reboot."

Running Xenix on Radio Shack Model 12's back in the very early 80's the systems would occasionally freeze while displaying the message:

"This device is not a typewriter"

lol had one a few minutes before I read this thread...

"Dr. Watson basically says you fuched up. Do you want to send a message to Microsoft?" Wish I had saved the actual screen message. Gotta love Dr. Watson.
