The SXS I have for sale at $950, it to can be used for Trap & Skeet. However Connecticut Arms has a Trap gun just like the one I am getting for $5999.00. The Case Colours on the Connecticut Arms gun appears to be better in their pics. ...

L.C. SMITH, Specialty Trap Grade, 12ga, 32", FULL, Single Barrel Trap Gun, nicely figured capped pistol grip stock with recoil pad, VR , beavertail forend, incredible 100% case coloring, 99% wood finish, checkering and bluing, appears unused, very tight, obtained locally, highest unaltered condition, a rare collector grade discovery.
$5,999.00 http://www.connecticutshotgun.com/guns.htm Picture does not come up so my guess is that it is sold. It is or was inventory # 1265 |
I have a very nice 1908 Parker Single barrel trap for sale. $3600.00 FFL to FFL.

Or Tony changed his mind. |
Has your Parker been reworked? Nice wood, straight stock would be unusal. Colour blue appears to be correct. Can not see detail of engraving nor lettering on the barrel. Checkering is very crisp for that age of gun? Has the receiver been cleaned?
|
Hey Tabs,
That I know of it has not been reworked. I picked it up in a trade so I don't know much about it. From what I can and what I know it is a correct gun. Checkering is sharp and the grain in the fore and butt match. If it is a restock, it was a very costly one. I will get you some better pics if you like. With 6" of snow here I have plenty of time! |
I would like to see some better pics, and serial number. I can look it up as I have the book. I am curious about the sharpeness of the engraving and lettering. Is there any Case still extant on the receiver, I can not tell?
The SB guns just don't pull the money of the SXS's even if more rare (not as desirable). I think I saw a Parker SB Trap at $8900 somehwhere recently, it depends upon Grade and condition for value as U know? Believe me I bought that Elsie SB Trap right if it is as nice as I think. I bought it to shoot. |
Most of the guyz who own and shoot Parkers don't care how much money they put into their guns say for restocking.
|
More pics. The finish is crazed around the forend iron. That is the only cosmetic flaw I see. I have shot it about 100 times and it shoots nicely for gun with very little drop.

This is incredible. I had no idea there was so much to these. Not to sound ignorant, but I always thought of a shotgun as the simple, cheap gun. Rifles always seemed so much more complex, and therefore more expensive.
I am thoroughly enjoying this thread. So, money no object what 3 shotguns would you get? And why.... |
Matched set of bespoke royal grade Holland and Holland doubles. .410, 28, and 12. Why? Because money is no object.
|
The gun is straight, made in 1919 by serial. No reference to this paticular gun in the book of serials. $3600 is a bit on the high side for me. As I said they are relativily rare, bt not as desirable as a SXS.
Parker A1 Special in 28 GA....you got $250,000.00 for openers. Woodward 28 GA made for the Presidient of Standard Oil in 1940...in 97 it sold for 200K then immediatily was resold for $250,000.00. I'll take that gun thank you. Any high grade 28 GA or 410 GA SXS,especially cased with extra sets of barrels..CUBIC $$$$. Parker, FOX, Elsie, Ithica, Purdy, H&H, Rigby, Dickison or Woodward. Why these guns...the workmanship is sublime and the small GA are few and far between from a by gone era of craftsmanship. U take that gun to the range and EVERYBODY will ***** their pants. U are on top of the hill. |

yeah me too because money is no object. |
I received the Elsie Trap Gun yesterday. Sometime you just buy something and go "Ahhh this is worth it." Beautiful orginal gun made in 1927, Speciality Grade. Made 1860 guns in that grade. It has its orginal Hawkins rubber recoil pad put on by the factory. Nice piece of feathered Walnut, checkering is still crisp. The gun was used but not abused.
I would say that stuff like this isn't made anymore, but that is not exactly true. It just costs one he11 of alot now buy. When I hold that gun I get the feeling of a by gone era of Packards, Pierce Arrows and Dusenbergs. |
Yes I agree. They just don'tt make em like that anymore for sure. Now ya wanna talk over the top? Check out this $35,000.00 .410!
