ron paul..wow

Ron Paul: 'When fascism comes it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross'...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrkltetQ0x4

Honestly, i think he is right. about it.

Porsche-O-Phile 12-18-2007 06:31 AM

Completely.

The original quote is by Sinclair Lewis (which Paul cited in his response).

I'm REALLY starting to like Ron Paul. A lot.

This guy seems to actually "get it" a lot more than the other manufactured political doofuses up there.

kach22i 12-18-2007 06:39 AM

A politician stating the obvious, now that is controversial.:D

FYI:
Ron Paul was featured this weekend in a PBS show. They interviewed the 36 year old who has never voted before which organized his last big record setting Internet fund raiser. Very interesting how they described Ron Paul's support base and how it may survive a a movement even after this election. Reminds me a little of the grassroots DFA thing.

REMEMBER:
The democratic party is not counting primary votes in Michigan and Florida, republicans are only counting half in five states including Mich & FLA.

Ron Paul could win two of the largest swing states because of this, and his anti-war stance may have a presence at the national convention as a result.

Ron Paul's voice is indeed worth having around.

hardflex 12-18-2007 06:59 AM

That video's funny at the end. Paul's statement hits too close to the Fox News/Republican slant, and the host stammers to defend Huckabee and the Fox News/Republican propaganda they deliver every day.

sammyg2 12-18-2007 07:01 AM

I'm much more concerned with the moral decay of our society than fascism.
That's why he will never get my vote or support.

Yea, we all need the goverment telling us what to do and what morals to have MORE.

FYI,

I think that Ron Paul is going to be featured on either "Meet The Press" or "Face The Nation" next Sunday. That should be very interesting. I hope it's the one with Russert since he seems to ask a little tougher questions than many of the TV talking heads.

hardflex 12-18-2007 07:27 AM

We're all concerned about Morals, but I am more concerned about immoral Business practices, or Immoral Govt. leaders, or Immoral Foreign Policies, or Immoralities encouraged by the chase for Dollars.

What part of our Constitution empowers the executive branch to protect us from "moral decay". I guess I missed it.

Does Ron Paul's platform somehow encourage or facilitate more moral decay?

Surely you jest. How could we get "more moral decay" than we have seen over the past few years?

Paul seems to have more integrity in the tip of his little finger than most of the entire crew that we currently have in charge have in their collective bodies! But do tell us how anything Paul claims to believe might cause "more moral decay" in your view?

bivenator 12-18-2007 08:02 AM

You cannot legislate morality.

NICKG 12-18-2007 08:06 AM

The more i see of him...the more i see him as my candidate. I hope that the mainstream catchs this..the guy is the only real conservative. I donated to his campaign, i will again too..in nj we are beginning top see more and more of his signs popping up, especially in college areas.
i like the fact that the guy has the guts to say what people think..and he supports his views 100%. his record should speak volumes.
even if he doesn't get the populist vote, he would be a VERY strong vp candidate

Maybe for delivering votes, but I can't see him as VP. No way would a guy with his integrity be able to behave and be a good soldier while the POTUS continues to shred the Const. Anyone other than Paul will do just that. He would not last long as VP and I doubt he'd get any meaningful duties if he had that job.

That is correct. But we certainly should be able to expect our nation's representatives not to act immoral!

Scooter 12-18-2007 08:43 AM

What's with all the conspiracy theorists supporting Ron Paul?

Not sure how many there might be but if they do support Paul it might be that they are similar to the nutcase neocons and the radical Republicans who seem to support Bush.

Both groups probably feel that they have no one else!;)

I take sammy's statement to mean that Ron Paul is more concerned with fascism than with moral decay. I wanted to know if Ron Paul's platform fails to address the issue that sammy is concerned about, or if it's simply a matter of RP no yet having a talking point on yourtube that addresses that issue.

mattdavis11 12-18-2007 10:27 AM

You guys need to find someone else. Ron Paul tells you what you want to hear. Two Texans in a row? RP won't get the nod, ever. Loose cannon that can't be redistricted.

Not terribly powerful arguments.
