Two dead in crash on icy roads outside Spokane
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. -- Two people died early Wednesday in a crash on icy U.S. Highway 2 west of Spokane. According to the Washington State Patrol, a westbound 1984 Porsche 944 spun out and collided head-on with a 1994 Subaru Legacy just east of Airway Heights. The driver of the Porsche, 40-year-old Kristin Alise Langley of Spokane Valley, died after being taken to Deaconess Medical Center. A passenger in her vehicle, 29-year-old Lawrence Charles Dusek, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Subaru, 23-year-old Emily Jean Chapman of Spokane, has been taken to Deaconess. Troopers say icy roads may have been to blame for the crash shortly after 1 a.m.. State road crews applied a deicer to the road after the crash.
