I have been up for 38 straight hours before, although not by choice (chronic, recurring insomnia). Luckily, I've been sleeping somewhat well lately.

I have had 4 or 5 day spans, however, when I've only slept 1 to 3 hours each night. In a way, that is almost worse. It is an ordeal to go through.

I don't know if you could say it was "without drugs," though - caffeine is a more powerful drug than most people give it credit for.

In college I stayed awake as long as I could. I think it was for three days and two nights. Listened to "The River" over and over and over. The hallucinations were unpleasant.
