One thing nice about this board is personal attacks are really not welcomed. Disagree all you want, but try and keep it civil. That's one of the truly refreshing things about this board. Oh, and people on this board actually meet in person sometimes. Me personally, I wouldn't say something on this board that I wouldn't say to a person's face, maybe your different.

And yeah, I think you missed Denis' point about the cops being, perhaps, out of line. Not being a cop like you I haven't been there.

I've known enough cops from Hollenbeck and Parker to realize that if you do say something like what Denis wrote, be prepared to, in some cases, become part of the LA Coliseum in field - buried face down in the visitor's section. ;)

I doubt that the U of F campus police "needed" a taser.

However it is quite likely that their Use of Force policy and/or their Escalation of Force Continuum policy MANDATE that "less lethal" force alternatives be deployed prior to the use of arrest/control techniques and/or impact weapons.

Silverwhaletail does have a point, and in other threads we've all talked and agreed about how what the cops probably 'wanted' to do and what they 'did' are not likely the same, because of the 7,843 cameras and cell phones pointed at them in that instant.
