Sun classes question.

This christmas, my wife want a pair of nice sun glasses. She haven't really "asked" for anything much, so I said "anything you want". We went to several place but couldn't find what she really like. Finally she found it, Channel, but she doesn't like the price. Does anyone know a reasonable store, local SCal, to recommend me?
Thanks.

You live in California buddy?
I don't think there's much to it? Get a laise chair and lay outside during the day, if its hot out you should wear a sun screen of about 15 to 25 depending on your skin type.

You can sun in the channel, next to the pool on the beach; it doesn't really matter as you mostly close your eyes while sunning?

I don't think your wife really needs lessons for it?

(hee, hee, couldn't resist)

I'd avoid any of the chain stores like Sunglasses Hut or Oakley like the plague. Order online. I've done that for my last few pair and have not regretted it.

For a small fee, I can tutor her in "sun" if the classes aren't sufficient :)

There are 600 + posting on Ebay just search:

Chanel sunglasses

Don't think you will find them cheap anywhere>

Be careful. There are probably more fake Chanel sunglasses sold in the world than real ones. I'd buy from a reputable dealer if I were you...

By the way, no Chanel product is going to be reasonably priced. They cost a lot.

I say skip the sun classes and slap that cratch.

I took "Sun Class 101" as a freshman @ SDSU...failed it. Every day was cloudy that semester...

Real aviator sunglasses may not be the best in style but they seem to offer the best quality for sun protection.

why the hate on for Oakley? I (had) have numerous pairs and always found they are just fine. I have also had Raybans and Smiths but I always tend to gravitate back to Oakley.

I'd avoid anything with cheap polycarb lenses. Have her look at a few that are actually good at protecting her eyes and have quality optics (Serengeti, Maui Jim, etc.).

Sorry, just could not hep' myself.
Really, don't scrimp on eye protection! There are lots of "knock offs" out there that are not worth schiznit.

I don't think he's hatin' on Oakley...I think he's hatin' on paying full-boat retail at Sunglass Hut or the Oakley Store. Everything is cheaper on-line (plus no sales tax!).

That term "nice pair of sun classes" reminds me of joke that fits right in:

A rich guy was a real jerk. Huge house, fancy cars, gaudy clothes, obnoxious attitude...the whole nine yards.

A simple looking young fella comes to his front door looking for work. Talked kinda funny like he was from the south. Rich guy decides to make fun of him. Asks the young fella a bunch of humiliating questions. Finally says "I simply can't believe how you people act. But hey, I'm a nice guy so I'll give you a job and pay you $100. Go out back and you should at least be smart enough to find a couple of gallons of paint that I know are in the garage and then you can paint the porch." Young guy says okay.

A couple of hours later the young guy comes back to the front of the house and rich guy is still lounging around. The young guy says he's done and asks for his money. Rich guy decides to hassle him some more and says "Are you sure it's all painted?" Young guy replies that he really didn't have to use both gallons. Rich guy tells him to get his butt back there and do it. So off he goes.

Comes back about 1/2 hour later and says "Okay, the paints all gone now please just give me my money."

Rich guy hassles him a little bit more but finally hands over the $100 bucks he had promised and tells him to get lost.

As he's walking away the young guy says "Mister, you are not a very nice person...and you really are not as smart as you think." The rich guys says "Why do you say that?"

Young guy replies "Because that not a porch back there it's a Ferrari."

Exactly. My personal pair is Oakley A-wire polarized, which I love. It'd be a cold day in hell before I bought it from one of their shops around here though. Online only for me.

Hey, I resemble that remark :). The version that I've heard is a "blonde joke", but she didn't talk funny...

Well Keith, I lived in Danville, VA for 17 years so I may have contracted that malady also!;)

KFC911 12-22-2007 06:24 PM

Malady you say...I thought it was sophistication! It's funny, my g/f is from Detroit, and it just kills her sometimes when her kids (born and raised here in "God's country") speak :)

rnln 12-23-2007 01:42 AM

alright, I edited it. Thanks and sorry for the missed spelling.
