already saw the version with Vincent Price and Charleton Heston, will wait for the video

I hoped that they would explore the concept of being alone in a giant city a little more. Off the top of my head I would:
- Check out how famous people lived - go to every dealership and drive whatever I wanted - ride a bike through the Guggehiem (remember that scene in "The Shining" where the kid drives his Big Wheel down the hallways of the hotel?) - drop something heavy off a tall building (like you wouldn't) - get myself a really good deal on some Fikse FM10's - etc. |

My wife also felt that the ending sucked. And like the other poster here, I would have been up to a lot more shenanigans in the empty town. Golf?? No... target practice! Plus, I'm a pilot so I think I would be doing some flying around and could probably get a better look at whether or not there are survivor camps. |
My son and I saw this last night.
I am glad I did not read through this thread before I went, on the first post I saw it was a spoiler thread and clicked out of it fast. I agree with many of the points, one of the most glaring mistakes was the girl driving over to Manhattan Island. All the bridges were blown and tunnels were flooded, how did she get on and off the Island. I also agree with the brinks truck idea. As far as having his way with hotels and other buildings, I would suspect entering any building would be a tense operation, as every building posed the threat of being a nest of mutants. All that said, it was a very engaging and entertaining movie, it accomplished what I wanted it to do, forget about life for 1.7 hours and enjoy what was on the screen. |
Large, expanded advertisement for Ford Motor Company.

I mean yeah, he has the pick of the city for fun rides and he picks a Mustang? He drives a Excursion or Expedition instead of a Brinks Truck? I also laughed at the girls Ford Escape(?) at the end it look like she stopped of and had it detailed. I looked great for a car that was made at least 3 years prior. But, that was such a small part of the movie in my opinion, Will Smiths ride was almost so bland to me I barely noticed what it was. I did notice it was NOT what I would have chosen, I saw a lot of nice military iron around that would have made good rides as well. |
i watched like 30 minutes of legend..then turned it off. I don't like movies that have any kind of death involving animals..

Apparently Nick has the super special bootleg DVD, since he was able to "turn it off". Or maybe he's in the movie industry and received a legit screener disc.
For mere mortals, it's not out on DVD yet - still in the theaters. |
