Dude, you race a 914. Is this really a surprise to you? ;)

Actually food "things" are pretty common. I've known several people whose food cannot "touch" on their plate. One of them went so far as to have cafeteria styled plates with the little raised dividers.

Me - pretty flexible EXCEPT for one thing. I absolutely cannot WILL NOT eat anything that has been on or in styrofoam. No styrofoam plates or cups. Especially anything HEATED in a styrofoam container - blech...

When I was young I didn't like to eat BBQ anything with my fingers, didn't like my food to touch, didn't like the juice from one food running onto another food.

I've mostly gotten over that. I'm still pretty fastidious about keeping clean when I eat. If I'm eating with my hands (ribs, for instance) it's only with a couple of finger tips, and I clean my fingers often. These days I get boneless wings and eat them with a fork. I don't bite into things in such a way that I'll get goop on my cheeks (when eating at the Y all bets are off. The messier the better).

I guess I'm similar to Trekkor except that I've compromised on my getting messy thing.

So, when working with food, it's mostly clean for me. HOWEVER, when working on a car or a woman I get really messy. If working on a woman with food, I guess we'd have to go by the messy rule because of the involvement of the woman.

I wonder what the correlation between OCD and Porsche ownership is?

I can eat just about anything on bones with my chopsticks, pick it totally clean and not touch it with my hands. I have trained a lot for this. We steam entire fishes a few times a week, so they have all the bones, which I can get around with chopsticks too. I don't like having king crab legs, as I can't stand eating with my hands, though I only ever use my hands with sandwiches and fries. I also think it makes a huge difference if you put ketchup on the side and dip into it or pour it all over the food.

I have a buddy that puts ketchup/catsup all over his fries. It drives me nuts. If I use something as a condiment, it gets dipped.

You could be going the way of Howard Hughes.

While I do store bacon grease in old tomato sauce jars, I haven't moved to storing my urine that way and I do cut my fingernails more than once a week.

You guys would crack up, my work shorts never get stained.
I throw them out when the right side pocket gets shredded from the tape measure hooking on and off.

This whole thing is kinda crazy, as I used to work in food for almost ten years.

I'm mental, I know it.

I think it has to do with the Howard Hughs reference.

Hughes is reported to have done some pretty sick stuff in his later years. Let's leave it at that.

I hope you're confused about the bacon grease part. If so, look up a good (Southern) recipe for mustard greens. Also, bacon grease down your drain will certainly evolve into a call to Rotor Rooter. ;)

Howard Hughes? Freak. But I kinda' like freaks. :D

Sorry but someone who eats ribs in any other manner that with their hands and BBQ sauce all over everything is a wussy... Its like eating pussy with a dental dam.

DanielDudley 12-30-2007 03:39 AM

Unless it interferes with your life or you relationships, it's not a problem.

Or were you bragging ? In most cases, I think it is a minor plus, as long as you are responsible about it.
