Following on Turbo's theme (but I planned to post the same topic before reading the previous post) I predict that after years of trying their best to not win the presidential elections, 2008 will finally be the election cycle that both Republicans and Democrats will finally be able to nominate candidates who cannot be elected.

Michael Bloomberg runs as the Bull Moose Party candidate with Ron Paul as his running mate. They take all states but Florida. Florida is officially kicked out of the electoral college for being unable to count any presidential ballots. Their ebtire state government is impeached after it is discovered they tried to cover up their lack of votes by flipping a coin to select their winner.

GW, Bush I and Bill Clinton go on the speaking tour together, charging $3 million a speech.

Hmmm...it would be kinda weird to see a guy who will say anything to get elected paired with a guy who won't get elected because of what he says...

Israel and Iran, and Pakistan and India play toss and catch with nukes.

Porsche-O-Phile 12-30-2007 08:45 PM

I predict real estate will continue to crash at an unprecedented rate.

Except in San Juan Capistrano, of course.

cantdrv55 12-30-2007 09:09 PM

John Edwards gets the democratic nod.

Collapse of Democratic party after the Hillary Clinton trans-gender scandal. That isn't a roll of quarters in her pant skirt.

Housing market will repair the damage of 2007 and bring forth a multi-decade double digit appreciation boom. Renters will be forever poor and be destined to live in tent cities and Hondas.

She is not a midget, she is just on her knees!

The rest is possibly correct, especially about the "roll of quarters" in Hitlary's shorts.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little (actually a lot). This guy made his fortune by suing OB/GYNs and convincing juries that mothers gave birth to kids with genetic disease that were the fault of the doctors! His wife has terminal cancer, and will die of it, he has little kids and he keeps running for President. And he wants affordable health care, Hell, he is one of those who has driven health care prices up because of his Litigation! A lot of it, that's all he did to make his fortune!

He talks about "Two Americas" rich and poor, Yeah right. It should be the rich and the rest of us. I have more in common with the poor than him. I have a mortgage and debt, I drive an older car, HE has a 50,000 sq. ft. mansion and a net worth of $35 Million or more. I have much more in common with the poor than he can ever imagine. HE has more in common with the Bloombergs, Bushes, Vanderbilts, Gates, than I'll ever have. He was a partner in a hedge fund that foreclosed on "average" Americans. Although I'll admit many of those people were stupid with their home mortgages.

Hillary Clinton wins the presidency.

I hope I'm wrong, but I've pretty much given up on the public-at-large (see my signature for additional information).

On the upside, I think we finally start seeing meaningful troop withdrawals from I-wreck and our guys/girls coming home to their families. Time for the healing to start. That's not a bad thing in my book.

Edwards is the perfect Democratic candidate. Reminds me of a younger Edward Kennedy.

Jim Bremner 12-30-2007 10:53 PM

Yep. Edwards made his money suing doctors out of business. Now he wants them all to work for the government.

azasadny 12-31-2007 08:39 AM

Keith Richards will live, Brittany Spears will die... Tony Danza will get another TV show that will fail. That's it...

pwd72s 12-31-2007 09:10 AM

I predict there will be 366 days...some good, some not so good.

cashflyer 12-31-2007 09:16 AM

My 2008 predictions:

More global warming
Brittany ODs
Paris gets written out of the family money.
America almost pulls out of Iraq.
Pelicans declare war on cystic fibrosis.
Ted Kennedy found dead.

sammyg2 12-31-2007 09:18 AM

They will finally admit that there is no man-made global warming, and Wacko Al Gore will take credit for fixing it.
About 200 zillion actors and actressses will get arrested for DUI, Israel will bomb the crap out of Syria (they will deserve it), there will be a new voter scandal but this time it will be huge and will involve illegal aliens voting.

Shaun @ Tru6 12-31-2007 09:28 AM
