Sports broadcasters have taken a page from the news anchors. They used to present the news. Now they "chat" about everything except the news. I don't care how the feel. I don't care what they are interested in. I don't care about what the wonder. They should just SHFU and present the news. It's like they all cater to bored housewives who need a friend or something.

The part that really pisses me off is when they go to the weather "person" who chats incessantly, gabbing on for a couple of minutes wasting time, and then they hint about what they what they will present later in the program but won't tell you now. ARRGGHH!
Or the cut to the dingy bimbo sitting in a helicopter (that is sitting on the groud at the airport) and she reads off a traffic report. Of course she has to do this through the rigged microphone that tries to mimic the sound of an air traffic controller but ends up sounding like two tin cans and a piece of string.
That's when my wife comes in and tells me to stop yelling at the TV.
I guess it's easier to do a half hour when 25 minutes of it is mindless chatter.

News and sports broadcasts are so much better in Europe.
At least they were when I lived there.

Even better when you understand the language.

Remember when Fox tried the glowing hockey puck? Yeesh. Talk about talking down to your audience!

I've settled into a pattern of recording the games I want to see and watching them later so I can FF through all the garbage. I can usually get through a game in under two hours. I understand the advertising goons are working on TiVo to eliminate the capability to FF while viewing so you can't tell when to hit play.
