I am Legend

I just saw it and thought it was great. A very suspenseful thriller.

ok, i thought it was a great movie too. but i cant help thinking that neville didnt do everything right. forget the big SUV, i would drive a brinks armored truck. and my home would be totally fortified. totally bummed me out about the dog.

did you read the book? completely different story.

I see your point from a practical perspective. But if he drove a Brinks truck and lived in some concrete bunker, it wouldn't be as exciting a movie. He'd just run them down, and blast them to bits like the GI landing on the beach at Normandy in Saving Private Ryan.

Oh c'mon. You mean when you saw the previews and him walking around with that dog you DIDN'T think, "...the dog eats it eventually"? I did.

Hugh, Thanks for resurrecting the subject. I liked it a lot too. I thought it had a more uplifting ending than I had thought it might have. I was hoping it wasn't just a nonstop video game of killing goblins and all in all I was very pleased. I REALLY liked the images of the city completely empty.

The dogs almost always get it in the movies. It's the worst part about horror, suspense, action movies with dogs. I want to see this one.

Too much bad boys style filming for me sorry. I had high hopes (maybe thats the problem) but just give it a "not bad" rating.
Loved The Flyboys did anyone see that ?

Cheers,

Re: Legend
I liked it, but had expected more story development.

I JUST saw National treasure yesterday. Yeah, it was what I expected...preposterous fun. Yeah, uh huh....you could probably stroll into the Queen's office in Buckingham Palace, The White House and kidnap the President (all this info is in the previews shown on TV so don't get your panties in a wad!). But it was fun nonetheless.

re:Legend - I reread the book a couple weeks ago just to refresh my memory. The book gives only the most skeletal discussion of how the holocaust occurred and what happens as a result. Really, it is just an outline of a story so they could have gone anyway they wanted to and stayed true to the book....there is little to stay "true" to.

Besides the standard outcome for the dog; has anyone else noticed (more in the past than now I guess) that you can tell which car is gonna get wrecked in the chase in advance? They always use a slightly out of date model...like a couple year old model - all polished up of course and made to appear new - but you just KNOW they're not gonna "Eff" up a REAL new whatever kind of car it is.

Absurd plot basis. Writers need to learn more about genetics and mutations. They must have been educated in Kansas. Numerous other technical plot flaws - where were all the bodies and bones? Taking out the center span of a suspension bridge usually will pull the balance of the roadway down due tension from the anchorages. Rush at end of movie to wrap up the story - they must have been over budget with special effects and had to stop shooting.

"...adapted to film as The Last Man on Earth in 1964, as The Omega Man in 1971, and again in 2007 as I Am Legend."

Not true, Mercedes gave, yes, gave us a dozen MBZs that you see in National Treasure 2, brand new 08's, and we effed up most of them. On Alias, in its second to last season, we smashed up pretty badly a brand new Jaguar XJR. We got that for free as well.

Yeah, uh huh....you could probably stroll into the Queen's office in Buckingham Palace, The White House and kidnap the President (all this info is in the previews shown on TV so don't get your panties in a wad!). But it was fun nonetheless.

We actually shot in Buckingham Palace. First movie ever actually shot there. Heavy background checks for everyone, and searches of everything. Whenever we were on the roof we had to wear a day-glow vest with the color of the day so that the snipers wouldn't shoot us.

Ok, I am crazy to think that......

It sucked!

1. So he could barely move after he cut the rope. All of a sudden he was able to fight the monster dogs.
2. The ending sucked.
3. How come all cars are on the side? It was so convenient for him to drive around town with no obstruction.
4. He should have been driving a more exotic car (Porsche perhaps ).
5. It reminded me two movies:
Night of the living dead
28 days later.

Sorry guys. I was expecting a better ending!

Hugh,

Selective quoting....I prefaced that comment about cars by noting: "...has anyone else noticed (more in the past than now I guess) ..."

Yeah, I noted that the MB's were pretty new. I was just commenting on the predicatbility of certain things in movies. The dog getting killed for example and then cited that older cars are the one that used to get reliably wrecked in the chase scenes.
