Happy New Year!

Oh Haha 01-01-2008 08:08 AM

It's a fresh start, no matter how crappy 2007 was for you. Here in Michigan it's been mostly talk of jobs leaving, no jobs at all, etc.

I am going to try to look at the positive this year.

I just got done shoveling 10 inches on fresh snow from our driveway and the neighbor's. Had my 4 YO "helping" as well. My first day of 2008 was started by helping a friend.

What are YOU going to do to help your fellow man this year?

VINMAN 01-01-2008 08:10 AM

Happy New year to all!:)

Wayne:

Helping others is what gives me purpose. I never know just who or what is there to be done. But, somehow, these things find me. (or I find them).

Even simple things like "Please" and "Thank you" can do wonders. Doing chores for elderly friends and neighbors or even strangers (well, more elderly than I am) takes very little time and helps them retain their dignity and independence. Sometimes just being a good listener to someone who is suffering can be a great help. (the clue is to know the difference between consoling and counselling; do the former and not the latter).

Its gonna be a great year! I hope to meet more of you hooligans and rascles this year. Be safe and be good.

Oh Haha 01-01-2008 08:44 AM

And if you can't be good, be careful.

My wife's 86 YO Grandma always tells us that when we end our visits.

To a great '08!

Happy new year to all.

With that attitude I can absolutely GUARANTEE that nothing will be different for you. Too bad. Happy to you anyway.

Instead of getting older, more rigid, more critical, more negative (frankly like my beloved but terribly pessimistic mother) I opt for a change. I will be as positive as I can be and shut my piehole as much as possible when I can't. I'm improving the world by mostly shutting up!:D

Thanks for the concern, I'm doing just fine w/o the psychoanalysis.

Most folks have already broken their 2008 new years resolution and the year is only 22 hours old. I'm going to have a fine year in 2008, it's not me that I'm worried about.

Life is great! Hope we all have a great 2008!

No matter what, I think most of us are pretty lucky.... ;-)

If my kids, wife, the rest of the family and friends are OK, life is fine!

Just hope to make more money! 2007 was nothing to brag about.. ;-(
