Don't crash your Jaguar because you are in a hurry to get to the honeymoon suite.

Hello all! SmileWavy

I am sorry that I have not been logging in to the board in a long while. My work has been very busy and my travelling takes me to places without computers.

We are now looking at churches to get have the cermony at and its quite complicated! I am not religous but my girlfriend is so it has to take place at her type of place.

One question to the group - is it customary to have the marriage person come to reception after since I would like to have an open bar for our guests.

Next time she tells you that you've had too much to drink, tell her "I'll tell you when I've had enough", then give her the ole' backhand. Women love that.

Swang,

Where do you live? Makes a large difference in customs depending on the area.

As for the belt he is referring to, believe its the garter belt... had to buy one when I married my German wife.

Priests, Pastors or the like do not typically attend the receiption following the wedding ceremony, fyi.

Good Luck again,

Good Luck again,

But you should definitely invite them to the bachelors party.

Good Luck again,

Our priest came to our reception, had a few beers with us. Cool guy.

Nothing says a priest can't drink. God knows I would if I couldn't touch a woman. What am I saying, I do anyway.

He didn't get loaded, but he had a couple of drinks. I had a beer with him on another occasion as well. Out of the collar, you'd never know he was a priest.

I would like an invite to Swangs bach party - something tells me it would be something to remember (or forget...).

The clergy will clean you out of booze. I've seen it several times. It's fun to watch.

Porsche-O-Phile 02-07-2008 03:49 PM

The best is when the pastor's kids get busted for sneaking booze. Makes for good entertainment.

The children of Ministers/Pastors/Priests are always the wildest!

Somewhere there is a picture of me club dancing with the [female] pastor that married us...

A friend of a friend of mine is a priest (same age as me). I've hung out with him on a few occasions. Very cool guy.

Thanks for your thoughts on the reception information.

The marriage ceremony is performed by someone who is not allowed to drink according to my fionce so I do not want to offend them. So I am wondering about how upsetting it would be for him to be around a lot of people who are drinking cocktails and wines.

She does not seem to think its important but I really want to party for my marriage!

We are meeting with church officials this weekend so I may just ask him and move onward with plans.

I did some reading on the belt - I see how sometimes my questions cn be confusing!! It is the gardener belt that I was thinking about and it seems that the women will pick this out for my fionce and present during their party along with silly things like underware and movies ;) so not something for me to worry about.

I'm exciting about this
