"Test Drive" a house

So I moved to TX and am leasing a place till the wife finds us a new house.

We were just discussing how some of the spec builds have glass enclosed shower stalls and some have larger elaborate dual head stone shower "areas' with no doors.

I think the glass ones look cheesy but am concerned the open ones will be cold/drafty.

So I suggested bringing towels and test driving the showers. While we are at it maybe pinch a loaf or two to make sure the crapper is comfortable.

I am also thinking of trying to spend a night or two in a prospective house since my last house had this evil orb street light that would go on and off seemingly at random and would always find the crack in the blinds that focused it's demonic glow like a friggin laser beam right on my pillow.

Yes? No?

Sounds cool but doubt it will fly.

Good luck with the demonic glows tho....:D:D:D

I thought of that as well and told myself that I woul sleep in a camper on the st the night before signing

I'll buy you a drink if you write a "minimum two turd test" clause into your conditions of purchase.

It's a buyer's market. If the house is empty, I doubt they would mind you trying the shower. The house inspector would do so anyway - without getting wet however. I have spent a night in an apartment type condo in Europe to check it out for the buyer. This was in a busy dual use area and noise (especially deliveries in the early a.m.) were of concern. You should always check out real estate during different times of the day and week. (How many vehicles are parked in the road at night? If there is a lot of them it means that the neighbors are renting out rooms or having several families live in one house.) What do people do on weekends? On a weekday morning? Anyone wandering the street half naked with a can of beer in their hands? Trust me, I have seen it all!

I think there is a new show on HGTV where perspective buyers actually spend the night in a house before buying..... Maybe your just a trend setter :)

What's this I hear about a group showering experience in N. Tx. Man you northern guys are too wierd for me.

Just a house, owned seven so far, probably own another seven more. If something is not right after I move in, I correct it. Just completed a new earthen shower surrounded by 3/8ths frame less glass on three sides. I did this because the original shower was some crap plastic basin and 1/4" frosted glass. Anything can be fixed, or you just sell it and move on.

Ya, not a good idea to test drive a shower, crapper or BR. Your not in the left coast or the beast coast. Your in Nord Tejas son and you pitch that idea and you might just find yo nakkid arse on the outside looking into that neighborhood.

Actually you should stop by my house anytime and talk to my Wife and me. We can help ya out.

Hey Mike,

You back in town?

Love to have you and the wife over this weekend for a meet and greet.

I'm 3 miles away from you.

Passed your house over the weekend while showing my mother in law the area.

Your going to get away asking for more now than ever before. Sellers need to move these properties. Most sellers are up for just about anything if it increases the likelihood of selling properties. If you have an agent representing you, I bet they would be happy to bring the toilet paper for crapper test. In addition you can buy these properties better than ever before. Shower test or 1 night sleep over, Just ask! you maybe surprised.

You should have stopped! Ed Hughes swings by from time to time while exercising Ruby. I haven't seen Mark Wilson in a cats age - I guess when you move up to a 997 your friends with vintage 911s just aren't good enough anymore.

This week end might be good - gots to keep the Pelican conversations on the down-low - she refers to any Pelican interaction as the Porsche Club guys and tires quickly of 911 talk and what not. The upside is she is a real sport and loves to have a beer and cut up.

MT 930 - knowing Tejas, he might get the OK but his name would be put on the YWL (Yankee Watch List). Good look trying to get a country club membership or rights to a deer lease!

Give me a call

Hah, I think I got on the list already.

Interesting 'encounter" at daughters school this morning.

I'll give you a buzz tomorrow during the day.

As far as p-cars saw a Gray one pulling into Grapevine Mills Mall a month ago, African American gent driving it.

A black 911 w/tail on heading East on Justin around 8:30 am three weeks back.

This morning in Grapevine over by Bone Daddy's caught a Black 930 coming the other way.

Oh and yesterday in the same area a really sweet looking yellow 356.

Know who they might have been?

Damn shame you can't test drive wives.

You think you know what your getting, but Girlfriend Platinum Final Edition (with the BJ Action Pack and the kung fu grip) instantly turns into Wife 1.0 beta quickly.

I did meet the grey 911 a few years ago, don't know the whale tail, I haven't seen the 356. I have seen the 930 - young white guy. I met him at an inspection station last year. Nice guy, biz owner, seemed like a play-ah but he was respectful to our son so he is Ok for now. There was a green 912 roaming 407. Young'n had it. Haven't seen it around. There is also a yellow 997 in your parts - young Asian guy drives it. We exchanged hellos a few times at the FM 1171 / 2499 light.

M.D. Holloway 01-03-2008 07:19 PM

Oh ya, which school is she at?
