If you go to http://www.nfl.com/schedules#Week
it lists the chargers under the afc wildcard. It doesn't come right out and say they are a wildcard team but it could be interpreted that way very easily. Yes they won their divisional title. No, I didn't realize that when I posted. yes they played in the wildcard game. Yes, the way the schedule is presented makes it confusing. Still doesn't change anything, I don't think they will make it past the colts on Sunday. |

I think that if turner stays with the chargers long term it can only spell disaster for the team. I saw what turner could do while coaching the raiders. When he has an immense amount of talent under him like he does in san diego, it doesn't seem like he doing so bad. But when coaching a team like the raiders, that is when you separate the talented coaches who can do a lot with nothing, and the average coaches who get exposed when they don't have the talent to make up for their incompetence. Norv Turner is average at best.

Oh, and for the picks.
NE will destroy Jac. IND will beat SD both because of there explosive offense and their small and fast defensive line (Rivers will panic in the pocket). GB will beat Seattle NYG will beat Dallas for two reasons. One i hate the cowboys with a passion, and two because i see the giants as being the possible SB spoilers this year.

Picking NE/GB in the SB.
Favre has a good game, Brady has a great game. NE wins by 10. Favre retires with grace and dignity.

The Giants really surprised us here yesterday. Manning actually played a decent game(except for a couple of turf balls). Being a lifelong Giants fan its hard to believe that they won't screw the pooch but I have to go with my home boys over the cow boys.

<-------Picking the Giants this weekend. History shows bad things playing and beating the same team 3 times in a season, 20%.
Jacksonville over the Pats. A sensational season for the Pats is wiped out by a 16-1 record. Major Tom has the worst playoff game by a QB in the history of the NFL. Indy over SD. Norv Turner plays too conservatively, the running game is grounded. You're not in Dallas anymore Norv. Tampa over GB. A young team makes too many mental errors which proves costly for the Pack.

Giants over Dallas, particularly if Jessica Simpson shows up. San Diego over the Colts. (I can dream can't I?) Jacksonville over the Patriots (Not necessarily dreaming here) UCLA Bruins over the Raiders (Yeah, the Bruins suck. But the Raiders are worse).

But anyone who does take even a casual interest in the NFL would know that the AFC West Division was by far this past season the weakest in that conference. Gosh, the second place team behind SD only won 7 games. So cut it any way you want and quote whatever excuse you so desire but it would make much more sense to simply plead not paying attention. P.S. And the great thing about the AFC West this season (as I constantly remind my brother in Denver) is that the Packers beat EVERY team in that division this season!! Plus I was at Lambeau when the Packers beat the Chargers.

Okay, let's go in order here.
fastredsc: You could be my hero if your picks come true. Maybe it's karma. I had a red '74 Carrera before moving up here and that's close enough to your SC. But realistically (or if i was betting real money) you probably have two picks wrong. Porsche-O-P: As with above, I hope you are correct. But if the Pack gets that far I can see a replay of what happened to argulably the best Packer team of the past 40 years when the Bronc and Elway beat them when they should not have. Flatbutt: you could be correct. No choices on the other games? Matt: I had mentioned that 3 times thing. But going against the Pats??? And the one thing that I will bet both my '86 Wide Body Euro version cabriolet and my first born is that Tampa Bay will not beat Green Bay this coming weekend. P.S. If you disagree we will exchange PayPal numbers and finalize the bet.DD: Another one who thinks the Pats will lose? I don't see that happening. I'll go with Seattle and the Pats on Sat. And then the Boyz and Indy on Sun. See, I take Seattle only because if they win I look good here...and if they lose I'm happy as all hell.

As to taking the Hawks over the Pack, LOL. As to your other bets - ZZZZ - I hope you're at least giving points.

I can see what you say about the Pats. They did look beatable. However, another guy might say gee, Indy beat the Jags twice and Jacksonville also lost to Tenn. and New Orleans...and to Houston TWICE! So that who beat who stuff doesn't hold much water. If it did the Bears would be in the playoffs because my guys lost to them twice.

did the pats look beatable or did they look like a team trying to balance a perfect season with keeping healthy players for the post season?

Nervous, very nervous Cowboys fan here.... Eli looked good, whilst the last 3 games for Dallas were atrocious.
I am going with: GB over Hawks: Hasselbeck was very sloppy against WAS and the game was won by the DEF. If Favre does not try and win the game by himself then GB should win Pats over Jack: I'd love for the pats to lose but I think they are goint to be 17-0 on Sat night SD over Indi: This and the Dallas game will be the closest ones. If Gates get back from the injury and Rivers does not throw away the ball I think the Bolts have a chance. Their defense will be on Manning's face all day and they will force some turnovers. Then it's a question of getting LT involved early and using their WRs as a deep threat. I think this will be the most enjoyable game to watch Dallas over NYG: TO will play and with Glenn back from the injury the Cowboys are too talented offensively. Eli did well in the last 2 games because the running game was effective. Nobody has run well against D. It will be a long game, and not played very well by the teams. I see a few 3 and out series, at least at the beginning... but I hope Dallas will pull away in the 4th. |
