My car 39 years ago.
With the help of google, companies register etc, I located and sent the original owner of my car an email with pictures of my car as it is today.
As it turns out his son, who is also a Porsche enthusiast, got the email and read it to his dad and showed him the pics. The elderly gentleman was delighted to find out his SC was still in going order and living on the other side of the world. Sadly the gentleman was in his last two months of life, but his son said it really made his day to see pic's of his old car. The son went through old photos of the various Porsches they owned and sent me a couple of pics they took when they bought it new in England. ![]() ![]() |

That's a really cool story.
In another 40 years someone will be saying "with the help of [insert current search engine here] I was able to find this post on Pelican Parts of my car"... |

Thanks Guys. It was very heart warming to get such a nice reply from the chaps son with pics and him saying it really made his dad's day to see pics of his old 911.

Well done Bill. Clearly the old boy was doing alright back then to buy a new SC. Hopefully he passes with his family by his side comfortably and without pain.
Oh....Love the colour.

Very cool, you probably extended his life a little just with the uplift of seeing his old Pcar!

What a cool gesture, Bill...a simple act of grace that is rare these days.
