decoding junkyard radios

Anyone have a procedure for decoding antitheft factory radios from junkyards or e-bay . I can get VIN#s from the cars and bill of sales from the vendor. Will the dealers provide the codes? My car is an 93 audi 90.
thanks, hushpuppy

My wife's VW Pisant radio crapped the bed. Tried to find a subsitute with a code. No luck. Why do certain manufacturers think that coding a radio is a good idea? Most kids lifting a radio don't know about the codes anyway, or do they?

I installed a Panasonic with the removable faceplate. No problems.

They should, but it will cost you.
