Introducing Ethan Thomas Estrada, Born 1-5-08

He was born yesterday morning at 10:40a.m. PST. He weighed in at 7lbs, 14oz. and 20 inches long. The little feller has some big feet and big hands and a true cleft chin! No one in the family could remember who has that on either side. Checked with my 83 year old mother and she said my Dad had one when he was younger...it was just hard to see in his older years and he's been gone 18 years.

Mother and child are doing fine. My son texted me last night that he has already laid down some ground rules with the boy: We LOVE cars and we love baseball, boy!

Okay, that's it. He's my first grandchild and I am over-the-top crazy about this little man already. Trying to figure out a cute nickname for him...."E.T" - The Extra Terrorizing! Well, not yet....but its probably coming if he's a toddle like his dad was.

I apologize for the poor cell picture. Better ones coming (...and coming...and coming...:D)

And with his new Auntie Katie, my daughter:

Congrats.
That's a beautiful nino.
Looking at that fist I'll bet he has a wicked right cross.

Dan in Pasadena 01-06-2008 05:30 PM

Thank you gentlemen, one and all for the kind words.

If my family is attractive it is due to their mother. It ultimately didn't work out between us but in truth, she was a beautiful woman and I was lucky she ever looked at me. She's naturally slim, has big hazel eyes and long eyelashes...I have neither.

Yeah, I agree the name "Ethan" ain't exactly high on the ethnic scale...well, not the hispanic ethnic scale anyway but I couldn't care less. He's a little "quarterhorse" (1/4 hispanic) --- and who cares? He's a beautiful, healthy boy and my family has been blessed with him.

Incidentally, his father was a pretty good baseball player. If he turns out to be left handed he will be the fifth generation of males in my family that is...in a row! His maternal great grandfather played in the Reds organization in the 1910's. Yeah, so I am getting ahead of myself:D a grandpa can dream, can't he?!:)

bigchillcar 01-06-2008 06:38 PM

Hi Ryan! Thanks for the coments...both of them. I think they're both pretty special of course. I lost track of your thread; what's new with your pet that was ailing? What ever became of your situation? Hope I'm not brining up a sensitive subject?u?

Hey Dan,
Congratulations. That calls for a coffee celebration one of these early Sunday mornings, if you know what I mean.

Watch your PM in the next couple of days.

Dan,

Congratulations!

My brothers and sisters all tell me the best thing about grandkids is: when you get tired of them, you can pass them back!

Best wishes for the family.
Les
