Pin Strip or No Pin Strip
Hey all - here is a pic of my new 2008 Pathfinder LE. Ignoring the fact that its an SUV. I am undecided if I like the pin strip or not. I am considering removing it. What do you think?

Forgive my stupidity, but WTF is a pin strip?

my vote is to remove it.
Cheers, Ed: It's the strip along the side of the vehicle, just below the windows. |

Ohhhh, gotcha. I think we call them pin STRIPES up here in New England. And I would vote to get rid of it. I think the truck would look cleaner without it.
Nice looking rig, BTW. |

Take it off so we can make an informed decision.
I'm typically against but it looks fine on this application. On a Porsche? Never!

I don't have a problem with it.
How about you take it off just one side? Then if you like it with or without, just make sure you're standing on the correct side. In this case, the stripe is meant to break up the large plane so it doesn't look slab-sided. Last edited by sammyg2; 01-07-2008 at 12:41 PM.. |

Just my opinion...but traditionally, pinstripes would emphasize the curves of a vehicles lines...since this is just a straight line stripe? I don't think it adds a thing...

It's your truck, so you're probably the only one who will notice the pin striping. The rest of the world will probably see just another SUV. They may not even notice it's grey.

If it's factory leave it. If not it's your choice.
Pin stripes are big on used car lots to detract the eye from body dings or to add a little excitement.

I would remove, but that's just me, because they are a pita when you want to wax. I also think it would look better without.
