So, are they going to send me a ticket?
Headed home just now, I pulled up to a stale red light; I was the first car at the intersection. Guess I pulled over the white line with my front axle; the camera went off. Saw the flash go off twice. In both photos I'd guess I'm in more or less the same position, since I stopped just over the line.
Are they going to ticket me? If so, is there anything I can do to fight it? |
You'll probably get a ticket. At least the red light camera can't tase you! :D

I sincerely doubt it.
From my understanding it has to catch you completely before the white line and then well through it. In your case it sounds like you were stationary. If in both pictures it shows that you weren't moving it should be pretty easy to determine that you were stopped. Here, a good explanation for you. |
Who know?
Here in Seattle the answer would be no. As stated above, you typically have to be substantially in the intersection to get ticketed. |
Legally you entered the intersection but I really don't think they would ever issue a ticket for that.

Yep - it'd been red for a while when I pulled up to it.

dtw - same thing's happened to me as you here in L.A. FWIW, I never received a ticket.
