There's a light right in front of my neighborhood with no camera, but the green from my direction last only a few seconds. If you're any more than five cars back in the line, you will not make it through the green. When I'm on my bike and am the only one there, I've seen the light cycle in all directions more than once except for mine. That intersection really was fine before they decided to put a light up there. And then you have the idiots who are afraid to make a right turn on red even though they have their very own lane for doing so.

BTW, when I'm alone at a red light on my bike, I do not weigh enough to trip the sensor under the pavement. I can sit there for several minutes waiting for a car to come up behind me to trip the sensor or I can ride through, which I do only when there's really no one around.

This supposedly works. However, I understand the magnets used should have more pull. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/828731/trigger_green_traffic_lights/

Not black and white, but obviously with less tailgaiting! :D

Yeah, I think Supe knows a bit about the added benefits of being rear ended and being made whole.
